All the best and I look forward to speaking soon. andrea A small, intimate wedding with a lot of flair at "The Hundred Eaves" - The Old Church - Restaurant and wedding chapel in Sellicks Beach. Despite being a small wedding the bride and groom (and extended family - may I add) took a great interest in flowers to highlight this special day. The bride chose vibrant colours for her bridal bouquet and the centre pieces/table arrangements. The flowers were composed of a selection of Singapore Orchids and Mokara Orchids to produce depths, structure and vibrant colours with a modern touch yet a traditional/romantic finsish. K.W., Kingsbrook winery    A little notion from my European travels...Europe is struck by soccer fever. Due to the FIFA World Cup 2010 Soccer tournament being played in South Africa, everything here also, is decorated soccer style. Houses, cars, retail outlets, kids with face paints, restaurants and even florist shops... I thought that the soccer would never enter the 'flower world' - but no... Have a look at a photo of a soccer style decoration in a florist shop. The arrangements themselves are simple and not state of the art floral design but I think it's the thought that counts. It's an eye catcher in any case. As for wedding designs, I have not yet seen a wedding designed in world cup soccer style yet :-) ... but who knows... how about a wedding theme called "FIFA World Cup" ....;-) I am sure for those who prefer Australian Rules Footy, Rugby or Cricket all can be arranged... :-)  Florist shop decoration due to the current FIFA Soccer World Cup Europe Calling for a floristic adventure 06/13/2010
Europe calling! I am off to Europe on a "floristic" adventure and exploration of new floral trends and design trends! ... for me: "La vie en rose"... As I do every odd year I am using the quieter winter months to travel to Europe, attend working seminars with European florists and visit floral design exhibitions. It is always so inspiring to look 'over the fence' and to get new ideas and creative impulses. I will endeavour to post some photos of some outstanding work pieces that I find overhere in order to give you a 'look in' as well. Keep visiting occasionally to check on some photos (under NEWS). Andrea In November 2009 former Adelaide restauranteur and celebrity chef (ex The Manse Restaurant, Adelaide) Bernhard Oehrli and his partner Jacky Daniels married at Coriole's Winery followed by a reception at Darry's Verandah, both located in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Jacky contacted me from Switzerland where she and Bernhard operate a beautiful boutique hotel in the Swiss Alps. The initial consultation started while they were still in Switzerland busy with preparing their upcoming winter season. Once Jacky and Bernhard got to South Australia we caught up to finalise their wedding flowers and all details. Below is a photo of her bridal bouquet and a comment she sent me recently after the hectic Christmas period had settled a bit... Once we got back from our Honeymoon we launched right into the Winter high season for our Hotel, leaving our beautiful wedding & holiday in Australia seeming like a distant dream !  Jacinta's wedding took place in November 2009, however her bouquet was delivered in December 2008. You guessed it. She chose artificial flowers. With top quality frangipanis and lilies combined with an eclectic choice of foliage and some natural items, one had to look twice to see whether the flowers were real or not. Jacinta wanted to be organised for her wedding and had her heart set on Frangipanis. To leave out any unknown or unpredictable factors she went for artificials and had her wedding organised in no time. No Title 11/11/2009
